BeyondFI: Know Your Money: What is VAULT?

Vault in the method of financial independence represents all of the accounts that most people classify as retirement accounts.
Vault money will not help you in the short term for financial independence but having that money growing either tax free or tax deferred can be a big boon in the offsetting higher health insurance and health care costs at age 59½ when health care costs are likely going to be increasing for you and your family. This makes investing for the traditional retirement age a part of any sound plan for financial independence.

Why Everyone Should Take a Year Off Work

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take a year off of work? You would have the freedom to do whatever you wanted. No more going into work and participating in the rat-race like everyone else. Just imagine what it would be like to take some much needed time off and relax and take it easy.

What would you do with a full 12 months off? Where would you go? Who would you meet? Would you travel, learn to paint, learn a new language or fall in love?

Well, I did just that. Certain things in my professional life had allowed me to save up a certain amount of money and I was looking for a break. Let me share my experience with you and show you what I learned.

The likely reason you came to this site is you realized or someone close to you realized that you are simply not “getting ahead.' At some point most people in the United States come to realize that they are sick and tired of working everyday and seemingly have nothing to show for it. Most of these people are consumers in the purest since of the word. Consumer by the way is what credit reporting agencies call the people they have credit reports on. Which as you will find out, is exactly what they are, consumers consume their wealth.
